With a Heavy Heart...

The boys have officially told us "No".  Aaron and I are broken-hearted right now and our emotions are pretty raw.  We think that it was a combo of their fear and major pressure from some of the orphanage teachers and friends that kept them from making the decision to come to America. The strangeness of the finality of something that has been in our lives for over two years is hitting us hard.  Everyone was as shocked as we were yesterday; we had to wait another 2 hours at the orphanage because the social worker didn't have a form for rejection with her.  She and one of the directors had to make one up.  As Aaron Campbell (a preacher at our church) said a few weeks ago, "Aren't we glad we don't have a God that we can understand?!"  While it's true that we don't understand the path that He is leading us on, we know that He has led us here.  We know that we aren't here by accident, and we are praying that we are able to see His plan for us through the pain that our hearts are feeling right now.
To say that we have been on an emotional roller coaster does not even begin to cover what we are feeling (I hate roller coasters, btw). Then again, roller coasters that don't move aren't very fun:

  1. Oh, Tara! My heart is breaking for you. Praying you feel God holding you close.

When I would stay up late in my closet on my knees, I came face-to-face with the realization that I might very well walk to the end of the path and go home empty handed. Sometimes it's all about the obedience, and the reward isn't as tangible as we would like. You have run this race well. Your obedience in the face of so many unknowns, and your devotion to these boys has borne powerful witness to all around you. You are in His hands, in the middle of His plans. Praying comfort and peace for you, sweet friend. Cradle Tara & Aaron in your arms, precious Savior, and let them hear Your voice whispering, "Well done" in their hearts. ((((HUGS))))
